What is iPhone 6S/ 6S Plus Chipgate? This year actually two (2) Companies contracted to make the A9 Chip for the new iPhone 6S. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Limited (TSMC) and Samsung. You may ask why Apple choose 2 companies to built the A9 Chip, it’s probably the volume, neither TSMC nor Samsung could build 13 million chips by themselves. Haha.

Well, the only way to know which version of the A9 Chip you have in your iPhone 6S/6S Plus is to check after you buy it (Luck Matters). There is App Called Lirium in App Store (100% Free) will tell you, what Model of the CPU/Chip you have in your new iPhone 6S/6S Plus, Cool uh.

The new TSMC built A9 and Samsung built A9 aren’t exactly the same, The TSMC built A9 Chip slightly bigger than the Samsung built A9 Chips:-

As we all think that the Bigger the Chip size usually enables Better Performance and Efficiency, Sad News, Yes It Does, The Bigger Chip on the TSMC A9 is built on a 16nm construction as opposed to 14nm Samsung A9 chip construction. Haha

So here is the result of both iPhone 6S/6S Plus (TSMC built A9 vs Samsung built A9):-

Geekbench Battery Test: TSMC A9 Chip iPhone 6S last up to 20% - 30% longer than Samsung built A9 Chip iPhone 6S/6S Plus.

An (1) Hour Long YouTube Video: TSMC A9 Chip iPhone 6S burns 14% battery life and Samsung built A9 Chip iPhone 6S burns 15% battery (Not a Huge Difference like before; wait, more to come)

30 minutes Time-Lapse Video Recording: TSMC A9 Chip iPhone 6S at 89% Battery and Samsung built A9 Chip iPhone 6S at 84% Battery. (Both Full Charged to 100% at beginning of the experiment)
